This year’s Take It Off Hawaii (TIOH) program
came to a rousing finale when North Hawaii participants
gathered at Anna’s Ranch in Waimea to celebrate
their successes. A total of 58 North Hawaii teams, comprised
of 416 people, signed up in early May for the 12 week
program. Teams consisted of five to ten members, each
competing to receive "lifestyle points” designed
to improve health and well-being. While weight loss
was not the main focus, a total of 803 pounds were lost
by the 179 people who completed the program. Winners
included team members from Tutu’s House, North
Hawaii Community Hospital, Hale Ho’ola Hamakua
and HPM. Click
